'Studypod' Is A Minimalistic Stay-at-Home Office Cabin

The company presents its solution to the productivity issues related to remote work with its micro cabin design.

We all know that remote work has been massively boosted by the situation we're currently living in with COVID-19. Even before the pandemic, work-from-home solutions were gaining pace.

Now, as part of this growing trend, design studio licit has created 'Studypod,' a detached minimalistic office cabin that allows users to work close to nature without leaving home.

Get inspired by nature

Livit, also known for its Birdbox micro cabin design, has created a work from home office that is detached from the house so as to help overcome productivity issues related to remote work.

"Studypod is designed to be a detached home office, so that you can truly focus and get inspired by the nature around you," the company explained in a press release.

The small 'Studypod' uses a minimalistic design that comes with a detachable desk and it is delivered key ready. According to Livit, the office's large black tint glass mean that a person can feel secluded and relaxed while still having a view of peaceful surroundings.

A flexible solution

"With a detachable desk you can use the Studypod for other purposes like a yoga room, annex, or hobbies," the press release says. The 'Studypod's internal dimensions of a little over 2x1,8m mean that owners can even fit a king-size bed in there to have a special guest room just outside the house.

At $11,900 before tax, this tiny office space doesn't come cheap — the peaceful nature, of course, isn't provided, so the assumption is that only people with land or large gardens would buy this stay-at-home office space.

Would you buy one of these for your home? The way we see it, there's something really surreal about waking up and going straight into a cubic workspace that looks like a giant alarm clock. Though we do like the idea of escaping the noise.
