Dating is a dangerous game. It takes a lot of work, can be expensive and basically, you set yourself up for heartbreak. There is no easy method. Go the old-fashioned route and try to meet someone IRL and you’ll find yourself spending all your Saturday nights in gross clubs listening to bad techno while desperately scanning the room while trying to not look too desperate. Or if you are thinking like 50 million other dateless daves, then you will have signed up to Tinder.
Tinder works by displaying the profiles of people in your local area that are also looking for love. You can ‘like’ the profiles by swiping right. If that person also liked your profile you can start chatting with each other and who knows! It might end in romance, or at least a memorable one-night stand. But Tinder profiles aren’t all that they seem. Is your profile really representative of you? Are you being productive with your swipes? One way to get over this? Swipe right for everyone. Yes, that’s right. Just say yes. But can you imagine, just how much work that would be if you lived in a big and dateless town like London? You’d be swiping for hours. Well don’t worry, here is your solution.
The Tinda Finder is the first project from a product design company based in London. The nifty little gadget plugs into your phone's charging input and the finger goes to work swiping more than 6000 profiles an hour. It looks as creepy as it sounds. The gadget is made up of a latex looking finger attached to a small plastic tongue, as the finger revolves, the tongue swipes the screen. The product designers claim it will free up a lot of time and open up the opportunity for a more successful dating game. As the old adage says, "You have to be in it to win it.”
The ‘game-changing’ device has been fully funded on Kickstarter, after its initial goal of £2,000 is well and truly exceeded with still 18 days to go. It has been marketed as a ‘stocking filler’ so the pressure is on for the production to ramp up as soon as the campaign ends.
This isn’t the only Tinder booster product out there but it is the most gimmicky and the possibly the most positive. It doesn't allow any sort of filter at all, nor any left swipes. You may have already invested in Tinder Gold subscription, which according to the Tinder website is a "members-only service, offering our most exclusive features: Passport, Rewind, Unlimited Likes, five Super Likes per day, one Boost per month, and more profile controls—as well as our new Likes You feature, so that you can see who likes you before you swipe. Think of it as your personal Swipe Right concierge—available 24/7—bringing all of your pending matches to you.” Sounds ok for $4.99 a month.
But come on, for a one-off price of $10 wouldn’t you rather just say a resounding YES to love?
