Engine and car lovers unite: a 1969 Mini Pickup truck was just fitted out with a twin-turbo Audi V-8 that's neatly placed in its bed.

Now, the mini truck has an impressive power to weight ratio and it still looks cute.

The owner, Aaron Morris, replaced the previous Vauxhall V-6 for the Audi V-8 after experiencing a bad accident in his 1969 Mini truck.

Cute and powerful

While Morris was recovering from his car accident, he decided to replace the truck's engine while he rebuilt the badly damaged truck.

Morris himself is still on the mend, but the truck is now ready for business. Morris did all the work himself from his garage and placed a 4.2 liter Audi V-8 engine into the truck's bed.

Adding even more power to the truck, Morris also decided to add in two Garrett GT17 turbochargers. It's quite the Mini truck now!

What is a mini truck?

These little pickup trucks harken back to the 1960s and were made between 1961 and 1983. Only 58, 179 Mini Pickups were ever made at that time.

With a full tank of fuel, the entire pickup truck weighs only 680 kg (1,500 lbs). Adding an engine that's more powerful than a lawnmower's engine is going to up the weight to power ratio significantly.

So Morris' addition to the powerful Audi V-8 engine is quite a change. Typical Minis are powered with 1.0 liter and 1.3-liter engines — that's quite a jump up with Audi's V-8 4.2-liter engine.
