A Unique 1974 VW T2 Camping Bus Is in a Hot Bid

It's basically a bus with a camper embedded in it.

We have seen our fair share of odd campers from Wolksvagen Gooseneck Trailer that connects to a Beetle from atop to a camper with a Back to the Future twist, this one that recently landed in an auction is nothing short.

This one originally turned on its headlights to the world as a 1974 T2, that is until a Mexico City company called PaCoMobil decided to take this and a few dozen of its copies and converted them into campers.

The posting says about 50 were converted and only 6 still remain. The bid is currently at $11,000 and the listing has 3 more days. The seller gives extensive details and provides a full gallery of the vehicle.

Considering its age, we could say that it's in a decent condition, especially when you consider that it mostly remains original to its pieces.

Of course, it shows some wear and tear, what could you expect from a 46-year-old vehicle anyway?

It's original radio and glovebox panel seem to be missing and the exhaust system looks like it could give way at any moment with that much rust on it. Its previous owner repainted it and perhaps most notably, it has some sort of a video display, which is connected to a rearview camera at the back.

Odometer shows that it only fared 56,544 miles (91,000 km) in its lifetime, perhaps that's why the original 1.6 liters four transmission engine is still under the hood. This engine has a measly 50 HP output, so don't expect a quick ride, especially if you load it with stuff and people.
