The revival of the DeLorean brand has excited car enthusiasts and Back to the Future franchise fans for a while. That excitement reached a fever pitch when DeLorean unveiled the first car to be entirely created under the revised brand, the electric-powered Alpha 5, earlier this year.
Texas-based automaker DeLorean revised its image under its new management in 1995 by British engineer Stephen Wynne, who acquired the old company's logo and parts inventory.
The company was founded by automobile industry executive John DeLorean in 1975 but went bankrupt in 1982.
But now, DeLorean revealed its 2040 vision with its Omega concept, and it really looks like it is from 2040.

DeLorean is describing the Omega concept as a "complete departure from traditional automotive design," and from what it seems, they have managed to do it.
Looking into the future
Revealing the Baja-themed off-road racer concept in Monterey Car Week, DeLorean clearly showed that the company is looking so far into the future with its designs.
The new Omega concept is all about the future, or you can say that it came straight out of a cyberpunk movie. It features moon rover-style wheels, a front spoiler, cannon-shaped headlights, no sided mirrors, fin-shaped translucent rear headlights, and a dumbbell-shaped roofline.

DeLorean
Attempting to predict what the DeLorean design will be in 2040, the Omega concept vehicle blends the design freedom of an electric powertrain with an off-road-racing attitude, riding on large, chunky wheels with one giant windshield that seems to extend from grille to taillights.
The Omega concept leverages electric powertrains' design freedom for high-riding with opaque doors and chunky wheels. The concept vehicle's feeling is more likely of a moon rover than traditional means of transportation, with its dual-blade head and tail lamps that look like sharp boomerangs.

Its integrated tires and wheels are one of the critical features of the Omega, looking ready to drive on a post-apocalyptic landscape.
The concept vehicle has a strip of tinted glass that runs over the hourglass-shaped aerodynamic top, which should provide excellent overhead views. The rear window of the Omega concept is reinterpreted as a series of rising hexagons.

If a future such as depicted in the Mad Max series awaits us, the Omega Concept of DeLorean would be a lifesaver.
