Elon Musk Tweets There Are 146k Orders for the Tesla Cybertruck

Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter on Saturday to announce that there have been about 146k orders for the carmaker’s Cybertruck, just two days after its unveiling.

“146k Cybertruck orders so far, with 42% choosing dual, 41% tri & 17% single motor”, Musk said in a tweet. He also released tweets stating that the orders were achieved without any advertising or paid endorsements.

The Cybertruck has a starting price of $39,900 and requires an immediate payment of $100 to reserve an order. The firm plans to start manufacturing the truck around late 2021.

Minor setback
During its unveiling, the Cybertruck suffered a minor setback when it saw its armored glass windows shattered. This came as a shock to Musk who said they had run extensive tests before.
"We threw wrenches, we threw everything even literally the kitchen sink at the glass and it didn't break. For some weird reason, it broke now," Musk said Thursday. "I don't know why. We will fix it in post."
The Cybertruck has a range of up to 500 miles on a single charge. In a tweet that Musk has pinned at the top of his Twitter, he describes the car as "Better truck than an F-150, faster than a Porsche 911."
