The fastest unicycle in the world can surpass 87 mph

InMotion has unveiled an electric unicycle it claims is the “fastest in the world,” and it's a site to see, according to a report by electrek.
Fast and practical
Electric unicycles are extremely convenient as they are designed to offer fast and safe transportation while remaining small and practical enough to carry along and store at the owner’s location.
Lately, they have also become much faster, with the industry pushing ever more speedier and powerful models.
One such model is the InMotion V13 Challenger.
This bad boy is just one of many increasingly powerful electric unicycles from InMotion. It operates with a 3,024 Wh battery pack and an extremely high system voltage of 126V.
This helps it achieve its 4,500W (6 hp) power output which results in a peak power output of 10,000W (13.3 hp).
It boasts a 22″ wheel and can achieve a wheel lift speed of 140 km/h (87 mph) while the actual operational top speed of the V13 is likely to surpass 90-100 km/h (55-60 mph).
Worried about safety? No need. The V13 is equipped with 90 mm (3.5 inches) of suspension travel that allows riders to tackle bumps on the streets smoothly even at high speeds.
But that’s not all its features. The V13 boasts a touchscreen for selecting amongst a multitude of riding options and not one but two charging ports for speedier recharging.
Need to charge your phone while riding? A USB-A port and USB-C port are present for powering all sorts of smaller devices. Finally, it has a rolling handle for walking the unicycle next to the operator when not riding it.
Perhaps its only drawback is that it weighs 50 kg (110 lb) which means you can’t carry it very far.
A pricey unicycle
One drawback however is that it’s a bit pricey going for a whopping $4,600. However, pre-order customers may benefit from a substantial discount leading to a price of $3,999.
I guess the bottom line is are these bad boys worth it? They very well could be. It takes a little while to get used to riding them but no more than a regular bicycle.
They offer the extra convenience of being able to carry them wherever you go with the added bonus of riding pretty darn fast. Their large wheel makes them easier to operate without being so big that you can’t carry them and they offer more than practical speeds.
I have had the pleasure of riding one of these and found them an enjoyable journey that got me to my destination quickly and safely. At the same time I could take the time to enjoy all the views around me.
So if you’re looking for speed, efficiency and fun, look no further, a unicycle may just be for you. Now it’s up to you what model you choose.
