The big reveal of the company's first fully-electric pickup truck took place on Tuesday, and the truck is due to grace our roads, as well as paths, rocks, rugged land, in 2022

Powered by General Motors' all-new Ultium batteries and Ultium Drive, its e4WD truck has 1,000 horsepower and GM-estimated 11,500 lb-ft of torque that's generated by the EV's three separate motors.

Follow any path

"We had one goal for HUMMER EV: Build the most capable factory truck - ever," said Al Oppenheiser, GMC HUMMER EV chief engineer. "It’s an absolute off-road beast with a unique e4WD drive system that provides maneuverability unlike anything GM has ever offered before."

If that doesn't have you running to sign up for your very own Hummer EV, we're not sure what will!

The EV was built with off-road in mind, and with all its extra tips and tricks, it's sure to offer one of the best off-roading experiences out there, without releasing any carbon emissions.

So let's get into the nitty-gritty of it all. Some of its impressive highlights include CrabWalk capabilities, Adaptive Air Suspension that allows the truck to be raised around six inches (15.4 cm) high—invaluable when going through water or over rocks. Its tires are 35-inch-OD Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT ones, which can also accommodate 37-inch tires. Its Underbody armor will help protect it, as well as its UltraVision with new front and rear underbody cameras, and Off-road widgets that display the EV's functions on the infotainment screen.

But wait, there's more.

The EV's speedy charging system as well as its range will help drive you further, faster. Its kitted out with three separate motors, which GM estimates provide 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque. It has an 800-volt DC power supply compatible fast-charging capability of up to 350 kilowatts, which enables almost 100 miles (160 km) of range in just 10 minutes of charging — something hugely useful when out off-roading.

Its driving range is approximately 350 miles (563 km) on a full charge, and the EV has the latest version of the SuperCruise, which offers hands-free assistance. It can go from zero up to 60 mph (96 km) in just three seconds, and one of its favorite options is open-air driving, where the top panels of the truck can be removed to offer a truly immersive outdoor experience.

On top of all this, as the EV is quiet, something that off-road enthusiasts used to diesel engines complain about, GM has added sound effects that are perfectly tuned to offer the best experience. The list goes on, but we sadly had to limit ourselves to 'just' these options as there's simply too much to go through. You can check out the exact listing of all of the Hummer EV's in the company's press release.
