Gordon Murray Launches New T.50, Successor of McLaren
Gordon Murray Automotive has recently launched its new supercar T.50, with a flashback teaser of how Gordon Murray's journey had started.
T.50 is going to be a lightweight model with a 2173 lbs (986 kg) total vehicle weight less than an average supercar, with the lightest engine, as implied by the automotive pioneer.
The company reportedly installed the supercar with a .85 gallons (3.9 liters) V12 engine, the same engine was built in 1904 for racing boats first. Every little thing is specifically produced by one of the most successful British companies.
An ambitious design
The modern successor of the McLaren F1 sports car, which had also been designed by Murray, will have a £2.36M ($3M) price tag, before taxes. The vehicle can rev to 12,100 rpm, backed by a 15,7 inch (400 mm) rear-mounted fan.
The company also has not failed to show off the whole car with its interior and exterior design. It is defined as an "engineering art" by Murray himself.
South-African born British designer Gordon Murray explained his quite assertive thoughts on the new design: "I believe no other company could deliver what we will bring to market in 2022, producing this British supercar will be my proudest moment.”
Hundred cars will be available
What's unique about the upcoming supercar is that the company plans to manufacture a limited number of only one hundred T.50s. Moreover, every T.50 customer will have the chance to meet Gordon Murray in person to discuss the car and personalize it inside and out, as explained in the press statement.
Having a long history of designing cars with strong engines, Murray and his company are planning to achieve another success in the industry.
Murray has been awarded a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) medal by the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William in 2019, as his recognition and contributions to the automotive sector continuously grew over the past 50 years.
