Tesla Model 3 Is the 9th Best Selling Car in the U.S.
Automakers in the U.S. in fact no longer publish their monthly sales data. However, after estimations of monthly sales numbers are compared it's relatively easy to know where automaking companies and their car models rank.
It turns out that Tesla's Model 3 is number nine on the list of best-selling cars in the U.S., after Toyota's Camry and Corolla, Honda's Civic and Accord models, Hyundai's Elantra, Nissan's Altima, the Ford Fusion, the Nissan Sentra, and the Chevy Malibu.
How did the Tesla Model 3 reach its ninth spot?
CleanTechnica tallied and ran their data analytics, showcasing that Tesla's Model 3 electric vehicle (EV) is the only EV to be in the top 20 best selling cars in the U.S. In fact, it lands in the top 10 list.
The EV has been in the ninth spot for the 11 completed months of 2019.
The fact that this model is in the top 10 shows how strong its value for money is, given it is higher in upfront pricing compared with the other cars on the list.
Further proving this point, the Tesla Model 3 is in the top sales position in the U.S. when it comes to small to mid-size luxury car models as can be seen through this graph:
What's even more impressive than an EV being in the top ten best selling vehicles in the U.S. is the fact that Tesla's consumer demand hasn't died down. When the Tesla Model 3 came onto the market after it boomed in popularity many believed its popularity would soon dwindle. A mistaken projection.
Moreover, December is usually a top-selling month for vehicles, and no doubt will the Tesla Model 3 be on many people's Santa wishlist.
Even though a number of people believed the Tesla Model 3 may make it to the number one position on the best selling list, they can be reassured that it's the top-ranking car in terms of sales revenue. However, in terms of unit sales, it's still 'lagging' in fourth place after the Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla, Honda Accord, and the Honda Civic.
Let's wait and see what 2020 will bring for the Tesla Model 3.
