There May Already Be over Half a Million Tesla Cybertrucks Pre-Ordered

When Tesla revealed its monstrous silver Cybertruck at the end of 2019, there was a mixed bag of worldwide reactions. Some think it's the next best thing since sliced bread, while others believe it should evaporate from the face of the Earth.
Whichever way you perceive the Cybertruck, it turns out that there may be approximately 532,000 pre-orders for the tank-like truck.

More popular than expected
Clearly, there seems to be a large enough number of people who are in fact interested in the polygonal Cybertruck. Given over half a million people have pre-ordered the truck, it's a good show of hands.

As a comparison, Tesla's Model 3 showed as much interest in numbers, but it took a good year, from 2016 to 2017, for the vehicle to amass the same amount of reservations.
The Cybertruck's speculated reservation numbers come from users of the site CybertruckOwnersClub.com. After collecting a number of Cybertruck reservations, order totals could be deduced by subtracting 112744100 from the actual reservation numbers.
As of Tuesday, reservation numbers totaled 532,048. That number is quite believable given Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted a Tweet back on November 27th that said roughly 250,000 pre-orders of the truck had already been placed. If this number is accurate, that means 3,357 new daily reservations were made since that day.

There are three different versions of the Cybertruck that can be pre-ordered, with two of them starting production sooner than the third, less popular one. We'll have to wait and see how many cancellations of reservations occur in the next few months, but for the time being it's looking relatively positive for the Cybertruck to be gracing a number of roads around the world.
Able to do the same for cyber truck? Apparently up to about 525k pre orders now!https://t.co/MaN7fsZMiD
