Watch the SSC Tuatara Hypercar Blast from 60-120 MPH in 2.5 Seconds
Strap your seatbelt, because you're about to go on a ride. There is a strong collection of sports cars that defy the laws of physics and leave engineers and motorist fans stunned. You can now add the SSC Tuatara to that list.
The hypercar was developed by the American automobile manufacturer SSC North America, and has a whopping 1,750 horsepower available and is designed to break 482 km/h (300 mph).
The company shared a recent video where you can watch the SSC Tuatara accelerate from 100-200 km/h (60-120 mph) in a short 2.5 seconds. Watch the video below for proof!
The SSC Tuatara
A few stats about the hypercar: it is powered by a twin-turbo 5.9-liter engine, which produces 1,350 horsepower consuming 91 octane gasoline, and 1,750 horsepower when using E85.
The car can go from 0 - 100 km/h (0 - 62 mph) in 2.7 seconds, and the company explains that it will easily top the 458 km/h (285 mph) of the Koenigsegg Agera RS, aiming to beat the Bugatti Chiron record last year.
In the list of the world's most powerful cars produced, the SSC Tuatara currently sits at number six.
When looking at the — short — video, you'll notice the car blasts through its speeds in the blink of an eye. The driver goes into fourth gear in the video at 228 km/h (142 mph), and the SSC Tuatara has another three gears left in the box. Perhaps these will help it catch the unofficial production car speed record of the aforementioned Bugatti Chiron.
Take a look for yourself what you make of it, and enjoy!
