A YouTuber Tried to Break a World Record. By Staying in the World's Quietest Room?
Away from the chaos of everyday life, everybody wants a little peace and quiet these days. But how much is too much? For example, how long do you think you could stay in the world's quietest room? Hopefully, not as long as this YouTuber, and for the sake of your physical and mental health, that may not necessarily be a bad thing.
Orfield Laboratories in South Minneapolis is the home of a space that was once labeled by the Guinness World Records as “the quietest place on earth." While that has since changed, the lab remains deafeningly quiet, which, while beneficial to business, is detrimental to one's sanity. According to the video, the world record for the longest time spent in the room is 41 minutes, and YouTuber Ryan Trahan tries to beat that. The video will walk you through his experience of going to the facility, the experience, and its aftermath, so if you want to learn more, make sure you watch the video embedded above. And enjoy the silence.
