Have you ever wondered which of these swords is the most powerful?

Have you ever wondered which is more powerful: the Japanese Katana or the Medieval Long Sword? The Smithsonian Channel did, and they decided to put both these weapons through a series of tests.

"Who would come out on top, a medieval long sword or a Japanese Katana? We can’t look to history for answers – so we pitted them against each other in a modern-day confrontation," wrote the Smithsonian Channel on their video's description.

"The Katana is known as the masterpiece of far Eastern weapons technology. The blade is curved, single-edged and 25 to 30 inches long," dictates the narrator.

"The long sword, on the other hand, has a broad double-edged blade with a very sharp point and measures 32 to 47 inches."

In order to compare both these powerful swords, the Smithsonian Channel puts them through two key tests. Which sword comes out on top? We won't tell you that. You have to watch the video to find out. We will tell you the competition will have you on the edge of your seat.
