Diver Team's Car Discovery Solves 7-Year-Old Missing Person Case
It isn't common for YouTube videos to intertwine this deeply with the endeavors of real life, but when they do, it's often tragic. In one such case, this video by YouTuber and diver Jason Leisek has prompted the unraveling of a 7-year-old missing person case.
Before you watch the video, you should know some background information about the man who was behind the wheel: Ethan Kazmerzak, who was only 22 years old when he vanished with his car during the early morning hours of September 15th, 2013.
Last seen in Hampton, Iowa, Kazmerzak's last person in contact was his mother. After visiting some pubs, he would call her to say he was on his way home, but would never be seen or heard from again. Ethan's vehicle had vanished with him, and while extensive research was made, no trace of Kazmerzak was found.
This was until October 2020. YouTuber Jason Leisek went diving into the pond where a search for Kazmerzak had previously taken place. While previous research had been fruitless, Leisek's dive ended with him locating Kazmerzak's car which was approximately 8 feet (~2.5 mt) from the pond's surface. The vehicle was removed from the water and human remains were inside, which were later announced to be that of Ethen Kazmerzak.
The video details the investigation which is still ongoing. You can watch it to get further information.
