We know Teslas are trendy and eco-friendly, but as it turns out, they are also tenacious and long-lasting. This video shows that a driver managed to achieve the incredible milestone of 1 million kilometers in a Tesla Model S.

The video's host says this is a world record and the Guinness Book of Records was also there to commemorate the event. The car is actually at the 999 999 kilometers mark and the host and driver plan to drive into the 1-million-kilometer mark together.

The driver is Hansjörg Gemmingen from Germany and he has put 600 kilometers a day on the car on average to achieve this record. But the real question here is. how is the car holding up?

Gemmingen reveals that the car had two battery packs and three drive unit replacements during his time. Not too shabby for 1 million kilometers!

To make the car even more attractive, it should be noted that most of the issues Gemmingen encountered were covered under its warranty. Learn more about Gemmingen's journey to 1 million kilometers in the interview and find out from the horse's mouth exactly how reliable a Tesla Model S can be.
