Is this what our future holds?

This week SpaceX CEO Elon Musk announced that Starship could be orbital by March 2022. The announcement was received with great interest as the spacecraft is Musk's best hope for getting humanity to Mars.

It comes as no surprise therefore that SpaceX released a mesmerizing video that features what can only be described as a Dune-themed look at the spaceship's future. "A fully and rapidly reusable launch vehicle is key to a future in which humanity is out exploring the star," says the Tweet accompanying the video.

The clip starts out right here on earth with some mesmerizing views of our planet. It then goes on to showcase Starship taking off and heading off to space? Where is it going? Why Mars of course.

The spacecraft reaches the Red Planet and it's initially empty. You can marvel at its pristine beauty but not for long as soon more spacecraft start arriving like shooting stars from the skies.

Habitats are established and we can see astronauts starring at their new Martian cities filled with lights and perhaps hope for a new future for humanity. Of course, colonizing Mars is a lot more complicated than the video depicts and may involve many setbacks and even human casualties.

Still, it's nice for just a moment to enjoy this boundless dream of what the future may hold.
