Fan Inside a Vacuum Chamber: YouTuber Shows What Would Happen

Here is something interesting to think about.

YouTube channel The Action Lab demonstrates what everyone has been wondering for a long time: What happens if you put a fan into a vacuum chamber? Well, according to him, you get weird results.

A vacuum chamber is, as you might already know, a riding enclosure from which air and other gases are removed by a vacuum pump. So what would a fan do in there? Would it be able to move stuff around?

In order to test different pressures, he puts styrofoam beads to closely watch their movements. You can clearly see how things behave when there's a fan blowing on them in the video. It is pretty cool stuff. You might have never realized you needed to know this, but here it is.

Also, aside from looking almost identical to a snowball, doesn't it look like that animation of molecules in motion in high school? Cool demonstration.
