Father and Son Turn Their Old Car Into a Real-Life Transformer
Inspired by the hyperrealist movie Transformers, a father and son tandem customized their old VAZ-2110 Lada into a morphing robot equipped with fully automated weapons. The team of two, Gennadiy Kocherga and his son Sergey, tweaked the old car to their own bespoke version of a character from the comic movie franchise. The old automobile's Transformers stage name is "Optimus Gennadievich Praimov", after its creator, of course. "It looks like a world-class car, it can drive and shoot, it performs the same tricks as seen in the film, in the cartoons", said Kocherga. Apart from its morphing skills, this Transformer also fires a volley of shots from the automatic weapons outfitted under its bonnet.
The shape-shifting car was toured around a few Russian cities and this week it was shown off at the Oryol stunt show in Russia. Kocherga and his son are planning to turn two more cars into Transformers characters next year. He said, "The next year, we plan to build another two cars, based on the same concept. We already have a lot of quirky ideas".
Well, we'll be waiting for your quirky Transformer car robots, Gennadiy, in the hope that they will save us from evil alien autobots taking over the world.
