How Many Possible Lock Patterns Does an Android Have ?

Android users have a few options when unlocking their phones, one of them is to draw a pattern on a 3 x 3 dot matrix. The lock patterns, however, is governed by three rules:

1. A minimum of four contact points must be connected
2. A contact point can only be used once
3. An intermediate point between two connected points must be included in the pattern order, unless, it was previously used.
