The YouTube channel The Action Lab never fails at making content that you've never seen or thought of before. While they may seem like clickbait, they are most definitely not; and in this video, he shows how you can use your smartphone as a 3D scanner to make complete 3D images of desks, cats, or of yourself.

This particular trick is for those with iPhone 10 or above; however, it is incredibly interesting to see how smartphone technology is evolving.

It turns out that these specific iPhones shine lasers at people's faces to do facial recognition. For facial recognition, a traditional camera doesn't suffice since it has to be able to tell the contours of your face to recognize if the face that's meddling with your phone actually belongs to you. The Action Lab not only shows how you can make 3D images using these lasers but also how you can see the lasers using a security camera. If you're curious to know more about this trick, make sure you watch the video above.
