Those living in climates where snowfall is plenty are probably familiar with how amazing sled sports can be. Giving an adrenaline rush like no other, these sports are a perfect fit for anyone with the courage and commitment to throw themselves down an icy slope. It's a bonus that they also give you an intense core workout.

This video by the YouTuber Louis Weisz, who turns "STEM into an extreme sport", is a perfect example of what can happen when sled sports meet YouTube. The DIY enthusiast builds a jet-powered sled, which sounds pretty dangerous when you think about the fact that sledding means, most of the time, you have to control your body down at speeds you shouldn't reach on a motorway, with only some equipment like a helmet for protection. Then, he puts the jet-powered sled against 38 miles (61 kilometers) of ice. If you want to see what happens next, make sure you watch the video embedded above, and as always, enjoy.
