Making a Refrigerator Out of Rubber Bands

Shelby Rogers

Can you build a refrigerator using stretched rubber bands? Ben from YouTube's Applied Science gave it a shot. He noticed that by extending and contracting rubber bands while exposing them to different air temperatures could lead to a sort of coolant. He used a shaper and made a wooden frame for the fridge.

Despite countless snapped rubber bands, Ben discovered his fridge might be slightly cooler than the surrounding air. He said he'll definitely be trying another model again.
