This Mechanic Carved Out a Luxury EV Out of an Abandoned Airplane
Imagine an airplane that has been crashed and abandoned for 30 years. Could it be turned into anything useful? YouTuber Gino Lucci believed so and proceeded to convert it into a luxury RV.
Lucci comes from a long line of RV builders. His father and uncles all built their own RVs so Lucci was inspired to do the same. When he saw the old plane: It was love at first sight.
How did he undertake this amazing transformation? It took him a mere three months to fuse the plane with the chassis of an old delivery truck he had. He took the truck's engine and inserted it into the plane and even used other parts to construct his plane-RV.
He called the plane the fabulous flamingo as his wife liked flamingos. You can even see many flamingo toys placed throughout the airplane, along with a drawing of a large one right in its front deck.
How did Lucci manage to make the motor of a car work inside of a plane? What engineering went into building this hybrid RV? How fast can it go and how is it maintained? This video answers all these questions and more.
