Watch Mechanics Throw an Anchor Off of a Moving Car Like a Boat
Anchoring a ship to bring it to a halt is as common on board as loading and unloading cargo: An anchor is dropped, the crown of it is the first to touch the seafloor, and as the ship moves back, the flukes take their place and embed themselves into the seabed. However, could a similar approach be used to stop a car?
That was the concept that had the mechanics from the YouTube channel Garage 54 scratching their heads. However, unlike most people who forget about it after wondering something absurd, the Russian mechanics of the channel are known for accomplishing the most bizarre projects, ranging from cutting an engine in half and turning the ignition to converting a diesel engine to run on gasoline. In this video, they pretend a Lada is a boat and attempt to stop it with an anchor to see whether it will work or not. If you're curious about the project and want to see the results, make sure you watch the video embedded above, and as always, enjoy.
