There is no doubt that we are big fans of Garage 54. These adventurous mechanics are always coming up with new and interesting projects that grab our attention.
In their latest video, they turn their attention away from cars to focus on a motorcycle. The video is a follow up on another clip that saw a Ural transformed into a five-wheeler ATV.
They now take this ATV and turn it into a viable snowmobile. However, this transformation was not without complications.
For starters, the vehicle's tires at the rear had no grip in the snow, a test showed. To fix this issue, the mechanics developed tracks from steel-belted rubber strips and used tubular steel to create a channel for the tires.
This didn't solve all their problems though. A successive trial in the snow soon showed that the front wheel couldn’t steer the rig and the tires had a hard time moving the tracks. It was back to the garage for this snowmobile in the works!
