Steel Bridges Tested With Hydraulic Press to See Which Is the Sturdiest
It's no secret that we love the Hydraulic Press Channel. We have featured their videos often here where the YouTubers document themselves doing everything from testing car jacks to trying out hardened glass.
Now, the YouTubers are back with an even more exciting video.
"Which is the strongest steel bridge design? We had a design competition where our viewers designed their own steel bridges that we laser cut out from structural steel sheet and then tested with a 40-ton press and a 150-ton force sensor," writes their video's description.
It also comes with a warning not to try this at home or anywhere else. The video is mesmerizing to watch as each bridge takes a different time to collapse and falls apart in a unique way.
We can't help but wonder what architecture is the sturdiest and how its designers conceived of it. It's also impressive to witness that many bridge designs. Who knew bridges could be so versatile?
At the end of each test, the YouTubers provide key facts such as mass, maximum force, and the points given to each project. The video also shows the tests from a variety of angles. This is a clip not to be missed!
