Here's why supercars keep catching fire although they are so expensive
YouTuber Driven Media is an expert on cars bringing us episodes such as this one where he put skinny tires on a regular car and this one where he explains how Honda's oval piston engine works.
In his latest show, he tackles the question of why supercars keep catching fire despite being so expensive. You would think that with such high prices the cars would be built to be fireproof, but they are not.
Both McLaren and Ferrari have had major problems with fire incidents. Some of the cars have been recalled while others were not so lucky and ended up being destroyed by spontaneous combustion.
The video does not specify if any humans were harmed during these fires but losing a beloved car is damage enough.
So why do these supercars keep catching fire despite being near marvels of engineering? Why don’t automakers see these risks before putting the cars for sale? Does the blame lie strictly on the carmakers or do drivers also bear some responsibility? This video seeks to answer all these questions and more.
