Space travel and the technology that facilitates humanity’s interstellar travel has moved at an unprecedented rate. From SpaceX to NASA, the future of mankind’s place among the stars looks promising.

When testing out new space technology, companies in the space race have a secret weapon, The Space Power Facility.

As seen in Concerning Reality’s latest YouTube video, the narrator breaks down what makes the Space Power Facility so special and the purpose of even creating the world’s largest vacuum chamber.

Anyone in the space community will tell you that the success of a mission is highly dependent on how well the technology is tested. As mentioned in the Concerning Reality's video, the Space Power Facility can simulate to some extent the same vacuum of space.

Measuring 30.5 meters in diameter and standing 37.2 meters, the SPF is used for countless space experiments by the likes of NASA.

Built on 6400 acres, the facility also includes the Reverberant Acoustic Test Facility, the world’s most powerful spacecraft acoustic test chamber, and the Mechanical Vibration Facility, the world’s highest capacity, and most powerful spacecraft shaker system.

Be sure to check out the video to learn more about the Space Power Facility and how space companies utilize the vacuum chamber for the research of space travel. If you want to use the Space Power Facility you are going to have to wait, as the facility is booked until 2021.
