Tesla Owners Can Sleep in Peace, Car Thieves Prefer Gasoline Vehicles
Perhaps you may have thought that Teslas were far up on the list of vehicles most likely to be stolen. They're all the rage in terms of sustainability, look smooth and sleek, and they run easily.
You would be wrong in that assumption. This short video explains in easy terms the reasons why Teslas aren't at the top of the most stolen vehicles in the U.S., which also explains the cost of insurance in different types of cars.
There are three main types of vehicle theft:
- Theft of goods inside the vehicle
- Theft of vehicle parts
- And whole vehicle theft
A whole vehicle claim is made when the cost of the claim exceeds the entire value of the vehicle.
In the U.S., the two most regularly stolen vehicles are the powerful Hemi-Powered Dodge Charger and the Hellcat version of the Dodge Challenger. These two vehicles alone count for five times the vehicle average for vehicles stolen.
Sorry, Dodge owners.
The least stolen vehicles list offers a different type of vehicle, however.
Two Tesla vehicles are part of such a list. Good news for Tesla electric vehicle owners, your insurance will be significantly lower than gasoline high-powered vehicles, such as the Dodges.
