This Tesla Turbine Powered A House for 6 Years. Here's How It Looks Now

Maintenance makes it perfect.

Have you ever heard of the Tesla turbine? Built and patented by the maverick engineer Nikola Tesla, a Tesla turbine is a bladeless centripetal flow turbine which is also referred to as a bladeless turbine. Its unique design allowed it to outperform steam turbines at the time, with an efficiency level of 97 percent, and in this video by the YouTube channel MrTeslonian, you'll get to see one.

The DIY-enthusiast built a homemade Tesla turbine six years ago, which has provided renewable energy from the compressed air provided by his Trompe Hammer water-powered air compressor. In this video, he explains how every year, right when the winter arrives, he retrieves his Tesla turbine out from where he keeps it by the river and brings it inside to do maintenance work. He goes through it to see what it needs and get it ready for the year.

He does all that and more in the video: He cracks it open and examines the wear, rust, and debris that has accumulated inside the Tesla turbine after six years of seasonal use to generate about three to six amps of power 24 hours a day. If you're curious to learn more, make sure you watch the video embedded above, and as always, enjoy.
