The All-Electric Rivian R1T vs. The 'World’s Toughest' Towing Test
The all-new Rivian R1T 2022 has become the first electric pickup truck to enter production and delivery in the United States; but how does it fare in the "world's toughest" towing test? This question was put to the test in this video by the YouTube channel Fast Lane Truck to see how it would perform and whether Rivian R1T could be the true Tesla Cybertruck killer.
In this video, you can see a fully charged Rivian R1T, which is described as stable, quiet, comfortable, and quick, put through its paces, as it was not only towing a trailer with another pickup, but also was climbing in freezing weather.
Just so you know, the R1T has an EPA range of up to 314 miles (505 km); however, using Towing mode alone lowered the estimated range to 135 miles (217 km). That's less than half. It was also using more than 1 percent state-of-charge per mile when climbing. If you're curious to know more, make sure you watch the video embedded above, and as always, enjoy.
