The dark web! Just the mere mention of those words brings up images of shady internet stalkers exploring all this internet has to offer.
But what exactly is the dark web? It's a type of internet that exists exclusively on darknets, which are networks that require specialized software or authentication to access.
It may sound nefarious, but in reality, it has the important potential for providing users with the social good of privacy. Sadly, in recent years, it has mostly served those wishing to conduct illegal and notorious activities. The best example of this would be the online black markets that let users buy almost anything illegal and unsavory.
However, since the dark web also provides much-needed anonymity some good has also come out of it. For instance, journalists host sites on the dark web so that users feel free to make anonymous tips that can lead to some pretty life-changing stories where justice and truth prevail.
But we know what you are all wondering: how do we get on to this elusive dark web? The process is a lot simpler than you would think and we share it in our video. We also explain how the dark web came to be. This is a clip not to be missed.
