In this wonderful clip, SciShow explores the many wonders of growing food, whether in your own backyard or as an industry.

The show's hosts decide to begin with composting. After all, that is one popular way of making land to grow your own food.

There is a trick to composting, though, and that is that you can not compost meat. Why? The good folks at SciShow do a much better job of explaining that so we won't bore you here.

The hosts then go through the process of using poop fertilizer, describing everything from sewage slut to biosolids. No stone is left unturned.

In fact, the topic of fertilizer and how it can both harm and protect us is reviewed in depth. After all, the food industry is filled with pesticide use since it does, at the very, least make growing food more cost-effective.

Even organic food uses pesticides, just not man-made ones. This has led people to believe that synthetic pesticides are worse than man-made ones. But that may not always be the case.

What is the real deal with pesticides? What happens next with our food growing process, and what do you really need to know about the food you eat? This video answers all these questions and more.
