This Inventor YouTuber Shows You How to Make an Iron Man Arc Reactor

Tony Stark has some real competition in YouTuber The Hacksmith as this engineer-turned-host gives a tutorial on how to create a realistic arc reactor.

YouTuber The Hacksmith is a former engineer and product developer turned do-it-yourself video host who takes fictional ideas from movies, video games and even comics and creates real working prototypes! The inventor quit his full-time job to dedicate himself to producing these ultra-cool inventions.

Better yet, each episode shows the engineering process of making these incredible projects to inspire others and prove that anything is possible with science. So what better project to do that with than with Iron Man's arc reactor?

But is this arc reactor really real? "Well, it's a real "arc" reactor that generates plasma, but as we explained in the beginning of the video, it's impossible to create a device that uses less power than it produces due to the Conservation of Energy, a fundamental law of physics," says the video's description.

Nonetheless, this impressive prototype charges a phone and looks as realistic as close to the movie version one as can be. Tony Stark would be threatened for sure and considering this host is also working on a prototype Iron Man suit we definitely think he may one day actually produce a real arc reactor.

Until then, you can use this tutorial to charge you electronics Iron Man-style.
