This Is What the World Would Look Like 2°C Warmer
We have all heard of the dreaded 2°C warmer. It is the point past which we are struggling not to pass as environmentalists everywhere warn it will be chaos.
This might seems strange as 2°C really doesn't seem like much of a change. Well, one thing that's important to remember is that we are talking about an average change to global temperature.
This means we are not referring to a simple 2°C change in your home town.
All places around the world will react differently to this change to global temperature. Some will be much hotter, some may stay the same and some may even be a little cooler.
To give you an idea of how things may be, the good folks at SciShow decided to focus on two very different cities: Vancouver, Canada, and Kolkata, India.
The video analyzes everything from how heat waves will impact the world, and Vancouver and Kolkata in particular, to signs that trouble is already on the way.
So are things as bad as expected? We won't tell you that. You have to watch the video to find out. We will tell you this video will leave you more dedicated than ever to keeping temperatures under the 2°C threshold.
