This Time-Lapse Shows 13.8 Billion Year History of Universe in Just 10 Minutes
Understanding the scale and age of our universe is enough to strain even the brightest of minds. Luckily, YouTuber melodysheep has created a wonderful video that reviews the last 13.8 billion years in just 10 minutes.
The video starts with the big bang and then continues up until the appearance of Homo sapiens. The video is created from samples from a huge list of sources including NASA, Voyage of Time, Cosmic Voyage, Wonders of the Universe, and more.
The voiceover is also sampled from some of this media and includes Morgan Freeman, Brian Cox, Carl Sagan, and David Attenborough. Each second of the video represents 22 million years per second, which really puts into perspective just how old our universe really is, not to mention just how small a history we have with it.
Melodysheep aka John D. Boswell, is a Washington State-based musician, remix artist, and video creator. In the video description, he encourages viewers to watch with attentiveness and explore in more detail particular aspects of the development of the universe that sparks their interest.
The original sources of where the video is sampled from is a good place to start to engage with this massively complex topic. Melodysheep is a well-loved YouTube video creator, they are most famous for their hilarious videos that range from an E.T. ‘Phone Home’ remix to a Steve Urkel remix of 'Bad to the Bone'.
This video is a slight deviation from their normal theme but is an awesome insight into their talent as a video editor and curator.
