This Video Will Show You How to Replace Your Car's Hybrid Battery Using Common Tools
YouTube mechanic ChrisFix is back with another edition featuring yet another way to fix your own car. This time he takes on the complicated challenge of a Toyota Prius hybrid battery replacement.
And as always, he makes it look like a breeze with his easy to follow and comprehensive steps. "Replacing a hybrid battery is not difficult at all," says the video's description.
"I show you how to scan the computer to check the hybrid battery and we got a P0A80 code which means replace hybrid EV battery. I also show you how to clean the hybrid battery fan to keep the battery cool. To remove a Toyota Prius hybrid battery you remove a few interior trim pieces, unbolt the hybrid battery, swap out battery cells, and reinstall."
ChrisFix also explains that the featured process can be applied to other hybrids such as Honda, Chevy, Nissan, Ford, and Lexus. Considering most of these batteries come with limited warranties, this video definitely provides a useful skill that is both convenient and will certainly save you money.
For those changing their own batteries, do remember to recycle the discarded ones. Over 50% of the weight of a hybrid battery can normally be recycled, protecting our environment and future resources.
Safe driving and safe fixing!
