When you think of today's civil engineering wonders what comes to mind? Perhaps the Hoover Dam or the Burj Khalifa.

What if we told you that civil engineering has already progressed further than these constructions. It's true! Technology today is advancing at amazing speeds and with it comes ever more progressive forms of construction and ever more impressive structures.

In this video, we give you the details of four such amazing projects: the Las Vegas Convention Center Tunnel, the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and the High-Speed Railway in California.

The convention center tunnel is being built by Elon Musk's The Boring Company and will span 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) under Las Vegas. Once completed in January 2021, it will move up to 4,400 passengers per hour.

In the meantime, the Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia is set to be the world’s tallest skyscraper when it is completed in 2021 and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, completed in February of 2018, is the longest sea-crossing and the longest open sea fixed link in the entire world.

Finally, the High-Speed Railway in California is set to change the transportation landscape of the state. Have we piqued your curiosity yet? Watch our video to find out more.
