Does a self-steering bullet exist?
The Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is funding the Extreme Accuracy Tasked Ordnance (EXACTO) program, which has designed and developed self-steering ammunition. EXACTO’s ammunition and real-time optical guidance system tracks and directs the bullet to the target. It compensates for weather and target changes as well as other factors that may impede the projectile.
Furthermore, the ammunition has increased the hit rates for difficult long distance shots. The video illustrates how both experienced and inexperienced shooter can hit a moving target using the technology.
