Watch These Hardworking Robots Sort Packages in a Chinese Warehouse

Shelby Rogers

Package sorting has never looked simpler than in this video. An army of small orange boxy robots can sift through 200,000 packages a day. The video comes from People's Daily China and is quickly going viral thanks to Reddit. A Chinese delivery firm is looking to fully embrace automation. A process that would've taken up to several hundred people on an assembly line only takes a handful of workers.

Here's how the innovative system works. An employee places a package on a robot. The robot then reads the packages' codes, reducing the risk of sorting mistakes. It then whizzes over to the respective delivery bin and deposits the goods. The robots are also self-charging. When they get low on battery, they'll scurry over to the nearest charging location and plug themselves in.
