Seeing the maintenance light for changing the oil is never fun; however, it's a must-do since as the oil moves, it picks up dirt and other small pieces of debris from the engine. Not changing it can cause it to get too dirty to be effective.

However, have you ever wondered what would happen if you never changed it? Since it is not something that can be seen directly, refraining from changing the oil can be tempting.

In this video, YouTube channel 2stroketurbo takes care of a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, which hasn't seen an oil-change for 22.5 thousand miles.

Apparently, its owner never changed the engine oil since it was a relatively new car. He says, "It's a nice car. Let's change the oil and see what kind of goop comes out of this thing."

Well, let's just say that it is quite an experience. The video enables you to have a look at the poor oil and Subaru's oil filter location which might prompt you to say bravo to the engineers.

Now you won't have any second thoughts when you see that maintenance light for changing the oil.
