Ever wondered how mathematicians derived the formula of the area of a circle? This simple video explains the idea behind it.
The circle is divided into slices which are arranged into a rectangular formation. This is done with thinner and thinner slices until the arrangement forms an exact rectangle.
The area of a circle, which is equal to the area of a rectangle, can then be calculated with ease by multiplying the base by the height.
