They say that necessity is the mother of invention and such is the case for Laura Kampf, a YouTuber that found herself unable to travel on a train in Germany due to having her bike with her. Kampf did some further research and discovered that you can take a bike with you on a train if it is folded.

She then decided to make her own folding bike. How did this YouTuber make such a bike from a regular bike? With a lot of creativity and some heavy duty tools.

First, she used chain saws to cut the bike in two. Then, using parts of a bike chain, she connected two rectangular pieces of metals.

She used those two pieces to connect the two parts of the bike together in a way that they can actually fold. How ingenious! She even installed some locks to keep the bike perfectly in place when it is put on bike mode.

The end result is a folding bike that can be carried anywhere as a folded accessory. Watch the video to see this incredible transformation. Do you think you can make your own folded bike?
