KITT has never been so eco-friendly.

If you are too young to remember Knight Rider, you may not enjoy this video without an explanation. Knight Rider is an American action crime drama television series originally broadcast on NBC from September 1982 to April 1986.

The show starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a crime fighter who has a car named KITT. KITT was an advanced artificially intelligent and almost indestructible vehicle that was also somewhat self-aware. Together they went on many adventures making friends and foes everywhere they ventured.

KITT had a cool and sleek look that was considered very futuristic at the time. You could say that it already resembled the popular Tesla vehicles of today.

Perhaps that's why one YouTuber appropriately called Retro Recipes decided to transform a new Tesla Model 3 into KITT. The video is fun to watch as it plays just like the TV show. It has credits at the beginning as well as the series' trademark music and 1980s feel (i.e., the screen is a little blurred, just like shows of the time were).

How did the YouTuber transform the modern vehicle into the famous KITT from the 80s? What engineering went into the transformation? How did the changes affect the car's performance? This video answers all these questions and more.
