Amazing, rare footage has been posted online by Facebook user Cari McGillivray, who said, "don’t normally post on here but thought I’d share this incredibly rare and amazing moment with all you guys of these grizzlies fighting!"
The footage has since gone viral, with many watchers also pointing out an easily-missed wolf casually watching the fight from a distance.
Incredibly rare footage
Facebook user Cari McGillivray was driving down a road in British Columbia, Canada, when she had to stop and take out her smartphone. She was witnessing something that simply had to be filmed.
Two Grizzly Bears were having a battle over territory on the remote Canadian road.
The video begins with the two bears fighting, possibly a territorial dispute. Both bears stand up on their hind legs and fight on the road. Near the end of the video, the younger-looking grizzly bear gets chased away toward the camera by the bigger of the two bears.
A viral bear video
McGillivray's full Facebook description, posted with the video, says:
"Don’t normally post on here but thought I’d share this incredibly rare and amazing moment with all you guys of these grizzlies fighting! Keep a sharp eye out for the little wolf that is observing them in the distance! 🥰🐻🐺"
While she hasn't given an exact location for where the fight took place, McGillivray also pointed out in the comments that the video was recorded on the Stewart Cassiar Highway somewhere between Stewart and Meziadin Junction.
Stewart is small a town near the border with Alaska that has a population of approximately 500 people. Posted on Friday, the video has 2.8 million views at the time of writing and has been shared 63 thousand times.
