YouTube and Netflix Will Soon Be Coming To Tesla's Screens, says Elon Musk

With swanky surround sound systems and comfy seats including a host of movies to stream from, cars may soon become the new cinemas.

Have you ever been despairingly bored twiddling your thumbs when stuck in a traffic jam? If you're a Tesla car owner, those days may soon belong to the past.

CEO of the American vehicle company, Elon Musk, tweeted last weekend that the company's vehicles will "soon" be sporting live streaming of YouTube and Netflix videos when the car is stopped.

The actual date wasn't disclosed

Perhaps in even more exciting news, once the vehicles become fully legally autonomous, these videos will keep playing even when the car is running.

Relatable to old-school drive-in cinemas

Musk likened the future experience of watching YouTube and Netflix videos from the Tesla cars as "an old-school drive-in movie experience, but with much better sound."

Thanks to the surround sound system in the vehicles as well as the plushy seats, the car experience will offer a "cinematic feel."

Who needs cinemas anymore?

The future of Tesla: watch movies as the car drives itself

To add to the excitement, Musk said that the goal is to have the movies streaming live even when the car is moving, but this will only happen once they are legally fully autonomous and have been "approved by regulators."

If that wasn't enough, Tesla's in-car gaming would also be included in this list of future goals. Driver, passengers and all, everyone will be able to take part during long, or short, drives.

Perhaps the future of Tesla owners involves living full-time in their vehicles, given all the fancy added features yet to come!

At the moment, the plan is for Tesla's Models S, 3, or X to enjoy these perks.

The days of sitting bored in traffic or waiting for a friend to get ready will be long gone, thanks to Tesla.

Everyone will enjoy staying up to date with the latest TV shows or news, and until the self-driving features of the Tesla cars are approved entirely, the streaming of YouTube and Netflix while you're not driving, will have to suffice.
